My journey into the world of grief and loss began with the death of my son, Adrian. In that same year, I also became a widow. My beloved dog died a year later. Everything changed for me, but the world continued on as if nothing had happened. I often felt like an alien pretending to be human, just going through the motions of daily life.
Genuine grief support was scarce, and I desperately needed someone to listen without trying to fix me or offer solutions—there were no solutions to the deaths of my family. I longed for someone to help me understand what was happening to me, to tell me that I wasn't losing my mind, and that somehow, I was going to survive this. Finding my way to a life with meaning after such profound loss inspired me to become a grief educator and coach. I was trained by David Kessler, whose teachings guided me out of overwhelmng pain into hope again.
Now, I help those suffering from loss, offering a compassionate heart to guide them through their pain.
Being in grief is a lonely and bewildering experience. You feel cut off from the "normal" world. You might feel like you are an entirely different person. The future is a frightening unknown. My commitment is to provide you with a partner to bridge those gaps and provide the grief support and help you need as you move into this new reality. Reach out today to learn more. Initial consultation is free and without obligation.
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Coaching is an interactive experience where we will travel your grief journey together and seek a way forward through the myriad of feelings and memories that come up with grief and loss. Tapping into your psyche and finding the wounds that need to be addressed, both in your present stage of grief and your past, can lead to transformational healing. It is my goal to help you get there. There is no rush to a conclusion and no right way of doing it. We will find a way for you to navigate a world that might seem foreign without our loved ones there.
Grief is a psychological issue, but an undeniable connection exists between our minds and bodies. Our bodies hold the emotions we experience in grief and loss. We can release these emotions by using breath, motion, and sound. I will be your guide and companion in this process. Grief movement is not yoga and does not require flexibility or a certain level of physical fitness. All exercises can be done from a chair.
100%! What happens in our sessions stays in our sessions, just like seeing a therapist.
Initial consultation to meet and discuss your needs. This is $10 that will be refunded if we do not decide to work together or subtracted from the first weekly session if we do.
Rates vary depending on the service chosen.
However, if your funds are limited, we offer several pro bono (free) sessions per month and sliding scale fees. Please inquire about booking one of these spots if you cannot afford grief coaching.
Appointments may be made on our home page.
The time that your grief support process will take depends on the complexity of your grief, what type of goals you might set, and your openness to your process.
Grief never goes away completely, and I don't think it should. Yet we can find a way to happiness, peace, and fulfillment again without leaving the memories of our loved ones behind.
