I write about grief the way it really is: messy, confusing, and proof that love doesn’t end. I speak about it the same way. No stages. No silver linings. Just the truth of what it means to keep living in a world where someone you love is missing.
My books and talks are for people who are tired of hearing “move on” and ready to hear, “what you feel is normal.” The healing begins there, not by fixing grief, but by understanding it. By saying it out loud. By knowing you are not the only one.
Then and Now: The Evolution of Grief explores what happens when time passes but love doesn’t. It brings together my early journal entries from the first years after losing my son, Adrian, and my husband, John, with reflections written years later.
Each chapter begins with Then and returns to those same moments Now, showing how grief changes but doesn’t end. The book closes with Dear Broken Hearted letters written to anyone who needs to be reminded that they are not alone.
This isn’t a book of stages or steps. It’s an honest look at what grief really feels like , and how love keeps growing, even after loss.
I speak about grief the same way I write about it: honestly, with compassion, and without pretending.
My goal is never to fix grief or make it sound better. It’s to tell the truth about what it feels like and give people a place to breathe.
I’m available for grief groups, workshops, conferences, panels, podcasts, and interviews - anywhere people are ready for real conversations about loss, love, and what it means to keep living after someone you love has died.

Every time we speak the truth about grief, someone feels less alone.
